There is always something appealing about a cased
pistol set. This one is especially so because Tom Greco has added a touch of
the all-American Woodbury School to the a fine American pistol. The flintlock
pistol features a .50 caliber cannon barrel and brass guard and thimbles, a
sterling silver thumbpiece and a coin silver washers for the lock screws. The
barrel and guard are gracefully adorned with engraving by Hershel House and
tastefully aged by John House. Artist Joe Seabolt contributed a well built
gentleman's patch knife to this set. Tom Greco made the flat horn with bone
buttplate. The pistol has wire inlay commemorating the 2016 CLA anniversary.
This Pistol set is in a Tom's handmade cherry box
with walnut stain. It measures about 8 inches deep, 20 inches long and 5 inches
high. The top lid is embellished with a sterling silver plate and coin silver
adorned. The box plate can be engraved with the buyer's initials by Hershel
House if requested. The inside has flake felt, and various sections that hold
the pistol, horn knife, turned wood bullet and patch containers and a small
leather pouch with a ball puller and hand turned bison horn brush and vent
pick.

Tom states "I
chose to make this set as my donation, first because it is a special year for
the CLA and second I am honored to work such great talented artists. I donated
this set to help support the CLA because I believe this is a great place for
many very talented artists/artisans to express their talent and also for the
younger generation to continue this tradition.
