English Flintlock Horse Pistol c 1660

A very rare horse pistol circa 1660.  This pistol can be attributed to the London gun maker Staci (1625-1690).  Because the pistol has no proof it was made before 1675 when proofs became law.  The lock is not signed but is again a typical form.  The pistol itself is 21 inches in length and has a 14 inch three stage barrel.  The full English walnut stock shows some ware, but is still in good condition.  The plain rounded lock is in excellent condition with a very strong main spring.  Good iron mounts and original ramrod.  This type of pistol was favored by English cavalry officers.
