Contemporary Makers Portrait: Harold Edwards

Harold Edwards is a builder and a collector. He has built guns and collected for most of his life. He is interested in guns, furniture and decorative arts made in Kentucky. Early Kentucky and Germanic rifles are of special interest. Harold has done extensive research on gun builders who lived in Kentucky. In 2012 Harold was the speaker on Saturday afternoon at the Lake Cumberland Show with a slide show that featured the homes and shops of Kentucky gun makers. The Kentucky Rifle Foundation did a display that year on the makers from Kentucky which can be viewed here.

Harold is always at the Lake Cumberland Show with a great display which is usually a combination of his work and antique pieces. Last years display can be seen here.

More pictures of this rifle can be found here.

  1. Saw this rifle at the CLA a few years ago. Totally believable early rifle.
