Solomon Harriger Rifle by Ron Luckenbill

This Solomon Harriger rifle bench copy was built for the Jefferson County Historical Society. Solomon Harriger was grandfather to Russell "Hop" Harriger, author of Longrifles of Elk, Jefferson and Clarion Counties published by George Shumway. The rifle is German Silver mounted and has a full length comb plate in addition to the full length saddle wear plate shown here.

This rifle was a lot harder to build than many classic longrifles. More of Ron's work can be seen at his web site Recreating History.

Copy and photos supplied by Ron Luckenbill.
