David Dodds'/Dauphin County from the Bill Ruggie Collection

Here we have a outstanding example of a copy of the J. Baum rifle built by David Dodds.  It's not sure if this gun was made by Adam or his brother John who were both gunsmiths trained by their father.   While this rifle has all the rifle features it is a very long and slender example.  This example like the original exhibits carving that is more typical German folk art than traditional carving you would see on most long rifles.  This gun has a great matchbox engraved just like the original. The gun has been beautifully aged by Eric Kettenburg ad Jack Brooks.

$6,200.

Ken Gahagan is working with the estate of Bill Ruggie in offering this David Dodds Rife for sale. This rifle was a part of Ken's display at the 2017 CLA Show.
