The man in the picture is retired Coach Floyd Anderson of Milledgeville, Georgia, and the lady is his wife, Melissa. They are both white oak splint basket makers and they made this chicken basket for me, based on a type used at Colonial Williamsburg. There are lots of images of Europeans in the 18th century using chicken baskets to carry their fowl in. After seeing mine Tony Gerard ordered one, which he uses in his presentations.
