Fort Loudoun

Garrison Weekend
A Garrison Weekend is a time when the daily lives of the men,
women and children of Fort Loudoun are recreated for the public. On these days,
park visitors will find living history re-enactors in costumes at Fort Loudoun.
Visitors can view the 18th century infirmary, the soldier’s
barracks, the commander’s quarters, blacksmith shop and a Cherokee encampment.
Demonstrations will include a variety of tasks and skills common to a frontier
fortification, including cooking, laundering and blacksmithing. Costumed living
history re-enactors will go about their garrison duties throughout the weekend,
taking time to interact with visitors.

25th Annual Traditional Arts & Arms Making Workshops

Conner Prairie’s Hands-on classes are a rare opportunity to work closely and directly with some of the nation’s best craftsmen. Classes run from 8 am to 5 pm. Small class sizes in well equipped facilities will allow you to develop skills from basic to advance. All materials included in class price. Tools are provided in some of the classes. Mansker's Station

Demo Days
When you visit Mansker's Station on any given day you may see a variety of daily life tasks from the 18th and 19th century. Demo Days will ensure you see a trade from the 18th century. On Tuesdays see the blacksmith in his shop forging items for the Station. Wednesdays call for a day out in the field. You will find interpreters tending the gardens and crops. On Thursdays the sawdust will be flying as the woodworkers shop is open for viewing.

Experience life at
the fort during the French and Indian War as members of the recreated Joshua
Beall and Alexander Beall Companies garrison the fort. Highlights of the
event include musket firing presentations, hearth cooking demonstrations, a
uniform and clothing talk and military drills. Hours are 10 am to 4 pm
and 6 pm to 8 pm for special evening programs Saturday. The fort will be
closed 4 pm to 6 pm to prepare for the evening program. Park entrance
fees apply.
