It's strictly a wall-hanger and has a complex & interesting history. The barrel, butt plate and a few other bits came from a seriously broken previous fowler that, according to verbal history, was used by the posse which captured the James/Younger gang after they robbed the bank in Northfield, MN.
And that "previous" fowler was not the original weapon for the barrel because it came out of an even earlier fowler.
