Hunting Pouch with Powder Horn by Matthew Fennewald

Pouch is made from brain tan deer legging that was repurposed and measures 8" wide and 9" deep. The bag is unlined and there are two inside pockets that measure 5" wide and 3" deep. Flap closes on a toggle carved from dogwood. Hand sewn with linen thread.

The horn measures 2 3/4" across the base and 12 1/2" around the outside of the curve. There are four primitive fish scratched on the surface and the horn is antiqued. The base and stopper are both made from pine cut in the 1790's. Carved deer tine powder measure that throws 50 grains and a wire vent pick hang on a brain tan thong from the neck of the horn. Bag and horn are on seperate brain tan straps.

  1. That is a great set. The recycled material brings a very nice look and the primitive horn work is an excellent match.
