We started with a red maple blank and a Rice 44“ .40 A weight smooth bore. Add a Chambers Colonial Virginia lock and we almost had a gun. Bruce did the layout work and hand forged the iron furniture. I did most of the inletting and Bruce did the shaping, carving, engraving and finish work.

I like it. I think the execution was very successful. An interesting choice in gauge
