A Travel Clay Pipe Container by Manfred Schmitz

These were often used in the 18th century in diffrent designs. This is a more simple one that I have made for myself. It's made from an old broken gun stock of German Walnut with a small brass hinge and a lite decorated lock. You can take your clay pipe with all other things together in a haversack and you don't have to worry that it gets broken.

  1. Beautiful work! It really captures the level of care that went into protecting even simple things, like clay pipes, two hundred years ago. Great job on the very delicate hinge and catch as well.
