Jamestown Horn by "Wild Willy" Frankfort
Jamestown Horn ~ This is a late 17th century style flat "partitioned" horn. It is about 13" long and has several panels. The first panel is a map of the Roanok area with shipwreks, islands, and natives. It is taken from one of the original Jamestown maps. The next panel is of the compass rose of the map, and the last is a ship from the map.
The top band states, "The pictures of sundry things from the voyage made by Sir Walter Raleigh Knight 1585."
The reverse side offers three panels of the natives from that area. A WERON (Warrior), A Cheiff Ladye, and A Cheiff Lorde. It is covered in geometrics and has one applied ring and spout.

2013 CLA Silent Auction Item: Joe Mills Hunting Pouch with Antique Powder Horn
This piece by Joe Mills is just one of the items to be offered at the CLA meeting in August. The Silent Auction always has a great variety of items donated by the membership.
The hunting bag is one of Joe’s latest. It is all hand sewn as are all of his bags and has a great rustic look about it. Every piece of this fine outfit is aged to perfection. The bag is constructed from bark tan. A handmade measure and vent pick are attached to the strap. A brass buckle allows for strap adjustment. The old and restored horn is attached directly to the bag straps. A broken tip on the horn has been artfully repaired by Jeff Bottiger.
Don’t miss out on all the great silent auction items at this years show. If you have an item you would like to donate, just bring it along with you.
