The Kentucky Rifle Foundation: The Robert Blemker’s Collection

 The Kentucky Rifle Foundation

Wishes to inform the collecting community of the upcoming auction of Robert Blemker’s collection of Kentucky Rifles on Friday June 25^th,  2021.

The auction will be held at 7:30 PM

The Blemker collection includes 36 Kentucky style rifles, one military pistol and several lots of parts, including tools,  old  barrels, and  several old incomplete stocks. 

Auction items can be personally reviewed Friday the 25th in the adjacent lobby off the hotels main lobby from 2:00 PM until the auction starts.

It is important to note all items have legitimate estimate ranges and were reviewed by a select committee to determine an accurate value range, however, all items are sold with an “As is, where is” understanding.  Actual condition is best served by a hands-on review or the advice of a friend who has personally inspected the item [s] selected. 

Terms:  Items won at the time of the auction are expected to be paid for and removed by the end of the day.  A 5% Buyer’s Premium will be added to the hammer price.  Cash or check payment is expected before item is taken out of the auction room.  The KRF is not accepting credit card payment or phone bidding at this auction.

Note:  The auction will be held in a separated room off the main lobby extension of the hotel.  The auction room and review area are open to the public. No. 182: StillBrave Childhood Cancer Foundation Benefit Auction

Presenting a collaborative long rifle accoutrement set by three artists; the entire proceeds of your auction purchase will be donated to StillBrave Childhood Cancer Foundation. 

Stillbrave's mission is to provide non-medical, supportive care to children with cancer and their families.  

StillBrave's Vision:  We are committed to helping the families of children battling cancer in any way we can. So while they are fighting the toughest war of their lives, we will fight their lesser battles, so they don’t have to. We are not only here to support children with cancer, we are here to help ease the burden of the family and the caregivers who are fighting battles of their own.

The StillBrave Set:

This collaborative ensemble to be auctioned features the efforts of three artists who work within the mediums of the Contemporary Longrifle genre.  

Eric S. Ewing, of Red Hook, NY, created a shooting bag made from a mix of textiles and animal hides.  Materials employed include vegetable tanned goat leather, linsey-woolsey coverlet, linen, antique saddle hardware, and of course bark-tanned raccoon hide.

Clinton Byers of Lenoir, NC crafted a powder horn, with simple homespun lines to compliment the style of the shooting bag.

Ian Pratt, of Peebles, Ohio, contributed a hand-made chain and tin-powder measure, accompanied by a vent pick.

The auction of this ensemble of accoutrements will begin at 6 pm Friday, October 23, 2020, and will close on 6 pm Monday, October 26, 2020. The bidding will start at $450.00 USD.  The buyer will also pay for shipping and insurance.
