Morphy Auction: AN IRON AND SILVER MOUNTED PERCUSSION KENTUCKY PISTOL, EAST TENNESSEE from the Louie Parker Collection


This attractive and diminutive Kentucky pistol measures only 7 - 1/2" overall with a 4 - 1/8" deeply rifled octagon barrel. Stars stamped on the muzzle face and engraved designs at the breech and muzzle. Notched iron rear sight mounted on an applied iron heart, small silver front sight. Small flat percussion lock, plate with stamped designs, and "WARRANTED" in the center. Tiger maple half-stock with iron cap and ferrule. Iron trigger guard with applied silver oval on the bow, in the style of the Young family of Tennessee. 5 silver inlays including 3 stars, wrist escutcheon, and a heart. Oval iron lock screw escutcheon. 

CONDITION: Barrel retains a brown surface, rifling strong. Lock only holds on full cock. Ramrod a modern replacement. The bottom tang of the trigger guard has been re-attached. A very nice small silver inlaid Kentucky pistol.
