Bronze by Heinz Ahlers

The figure is influenced by the simple figure styles on powder horns and wood carvings. The is meant to depict a native American woman hoeing corn with a stone hoe. The look on her face suggests she has seen an iron hoe and her man drank the furs away instead of buying it.
