Painted Pipe Bag by Jan Zender

The pipe bag is painted with natural pigments mixed with fish eggs and painted onto a heavy piece of brain-tanned leather. The bag is 6 by 17 inches.







The above photo shows the items used to paint the bag. They are a carved bone, two carved antler tools, a river shell to mix and hold paints, and a wooden point for dots.
