 American Full Stock Percussion Longrifle

Second half 19th century, .45 caliber, unmarked 38-1/2 in. octagonal barrel with two fixed sights; walnut stock with iron lock, the plate stamped CALDERWOOD, iron ramrod pipes, the ramrod with carved bone tip.

Lock works, but needs adjustment; overall oxidation to iron; the butt stock with drilled space, possibly for an inlay; the stock appears to have never been fitted with a buttplate. Overall good condition for display.

Piedmont, North Carolina, circa 1830, horn body, bone spout, carved wood plug with raised gadroon border.

Length 10 in.

Overall fine estate condition, small crack to horn where it meets the wooded plug.
