Antique, Steve Marshall, Charles Miller and Art Riser


Antique heart button with a floral design. The button is from the Jamestown, VA area and is about 1/4" in size.

Button hole cutter by Steve Marshall.

Awl by Art Riser made from a rose head nail by Steve Marshall. The coin is 1734 Dutch.

The buttons are from 1725. They were recovered from a shipwreck off the coast of Hampton, New Hampshire.

18th century scissors. They make the neatest sound when cutting thread.

Needle case by Charles Miller and antique needles. The needles are triangular in shape. Three are marked W. Woodfield & Sons 14 and one is marked W. Smith, England 14. The fabric is homespun linen.

  1. Triangular shaped needles are called "Glover's needles", I understand thier use to have been for fine leathers like kid.

    It would be nice to see more photos of craftsman's tools.
