Poulin Antiques Auction: Contemporary J.P. Beck by Jud Brennan
Cal. 50. NSN. Bbl. 42" full oct. rifled signed "J.B. & INRI." Hand forged lock is unmarked. Curly maple stock is relief carved forward & rear of cheek piece, around bbl. tang, forward of trigger guard & forward of patch box. 4 Piece patch box is engraved. 4-3/4" Beveled brass sideplate is not engraved. "INRI" marking on the bbl. stands for Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews, referring to the sign on the cross when he was crucified. Jud Brennan is considered among the best of contemporary makers, & this is an excellent example of his work. CONDITION: patch box needs adjustment.

Poulin Antiques Auction: Rifle No. 19 Jud Brennan 1989
Cal. 50 rifled. NSN. Bbl. 52 1/4" full oct. signed "J. BRENNAN 1989 No.19". Hand forged engraved flint lock is signed "J. Brennan". Four piece brass patchbox has 4 piercings & is nicely engraved. Stock is finely curled maple which is nicely relief carved forward and rear of the cheekpiece, around breech plug. tang, forward of patchbox & around rear ramrod entrance pipe. Cheekpiece inlay is an engraved 8 pointed star held by a center wood screw. Jud Brennan was born in Linsing, Michigan, and in 1985 he moved to Alaska. This gun is marked "1989 No. 19" suggesting this may have been his 19th gun after moving. Jud is considered to be one of the best of today's contemporary makers.
CONDITION: near new. The pin holding forward tang of trigger guard is broken or missing.

Poulin Antiques Auction: 1976 Pennsylvania Bicentennial Commemorative Rifle by Jack Haugh
FLINTLOCK KENTUCKY RIFLE BY JACK HAUGH. Cal. 50 rifled. NSN. Bbl. 44" full oct. signed "J Haugh". Hand forged unmarked flint lock. Stock is curly maple. One rnd. silver wrist inlay. Full engraved beveled brass sideplate. 2 Piece brass patchbox is nicely engraved & stock is relief carved forward & rear of cheekpiece, to rear of breech plug tang, forward of patchbox & around rear ramrod pipe. There is a brass plaque inside patchbox which testifies to fact this rifle was numbered "56" and made by J. Haugh in Indiana to commemorate the Pennsylvania Bicentennial.
CONDITION: near new except patchbox release is broken or missing.

Louie Parker
That is truly a huge loss to our community.
Sorry not to have any photo's of his work when I was doing my book.
Eternal rest grant unto Louie, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
Louie Ray Parker, 86, of Jackson, Missouri departed this life Wednesday, October 19, 2022, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2022, in the Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel.
Graveside Services will be held at 2:45 p.m. Sunday, October 23, 2022, at the Upper Indian Creek Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Wilson Mortuary of Salem, Missouri.
Louie Ray is survived by his loving wife: Faye of Jackson, MO; daughters: Lisa Parker of Jackson, MO and Lori Devoti and husband Steve of Madison, WI; grandchildren: Jessica Van Deusen, Lacey Dieffenbach, Scout Devoti, and Vince Devoti; great-grandchildren: Connor, Keegan, and Jackson; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
Memorial Contributions may be made in memory of Louie Ray to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and left at Wilson Mortuary. Memorial Envelopes will be available.
