Blowing Horn by T.C. Albert
It's a big old blowing horn...also called a calling horn, or a hunting horn...
I picked it up at the last CLA show and carved it as you see...

Dew Claw Rattle by James Blake
Dew claw rattle with wooden stem wrapped with plaited quillwork bands, copied from a original from the Western Great lakes, early nineteenth century. Length 29.4 cm. Housed at Muse'e d'Yverdon, Switzerland. The original wooden handle is what I believe to be a re-purposed bird arrow, this is made from hickory.
Copy and photo supplied by James Blake.

Great Lakes Styled Sable Club by Nathan Gagich
This Great Lakes styled sable club is made from a Elm root club which he dug up like the originals. He also carved into it a faux war record and associated effigies. This piece is not a copy of a original but was made in the style of the originals.
Copy and photos supplied by James Blake of his friend and fellow West Virginian, Nathan Gagich's work.
