Haversack by Art and Jan Riser

This bag is to replace the coverlet bag of Art's that is falling apart. Art has always liked the bag Joe Mills made for Paul Jones so now he has a new bag. Art made the leather straps and I did the sewing.

Mike McHugh After Martin Shell

This is a rifle that I built recently based on the work of Martin Shell.  I like to stay within the the school of the smith I'm work from. I've always admired Shell's work. The quality of his carving is outstanding and it appears he was comfortable changing his carved designs from time to time. On the other hand, his engraving seems to be an after thought. Of course, there is the possibility that someone else was doing the engraving. How could the same hand be responsible for both (carving and engraving). The profile of his big brass patchbox and toe plate lend them selves to many alternative engraving possibilities. So I've re-designed the engraving using elements from the Dauphin County school. A little silver wire inlay to fill in his incised lines didn't seem to far fetched either!

Ron Scott After John Bonewitz for Mike Wilson

"This is an interpretation of a John Bonewitz rifle from 21 photos emailed me by Henry Bishop. The original rifle is located in the Minneapolis Museum of Fine Arts. I made an album containing 21 8 by 10 inch photos from Henry and sent this to Ron Scott.

The flintlock has a 43 1/4 inch barrel in .54 caliber made by Ed Rayl. The stock blank came from Freddie Harris. Jim Brooks made the bag, Ed Long made the priming horn, and Ron Scott put everything together including the horn strap, knife, and sheath. Special thanks for Henry for taking the time to supply me with the photos."
