French and Indian War Period Flintlock Pistol with relief-carved eagle head butt, circa 1760. 4" octagonal to round cannon-style iron barrel mounted on pin-fastened barrel with ornate relief carving including scroll and leaf motif around tang, intricate foreshock molding, and highly ornate eagle head butt. Iron flintlock retaining original flint, iron side plate, and iron trigger guard with elaborate finial. Barrel maker L. HALL and stock inscribed G. Morel (meaning unknown). Possibly original finish. Minor wood loss at tail end of lock. Normal use wear.
