This is very unusual fox horn recently found in TN. A man, 85, found it in his barn. It is in untouched condition with very dry surface patina. The overall length is 15 1/2 inches long with a 2 1/2 inch opening. The horn is 8 sided paneled. The horn has an unusual decoration with fishing net wrapping around the entire horn from end to end. There is a 3 inch long fish in the net. It has the initials JCM in front of the fish. There is a net border around the base end and on the mouth spout. The maker was very skilled to make a paneled horn with so much design. The decoration is unique being in a wriggle pattern in its entirety.
