Nancy Parks Glazener, 75, of Midlothian, Va., went to be with the Lord on April 17, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mildred Parks. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, T. Dennis Glazener; daughter, Sharon Butler (Eric); brother, Billy Lee Parks; and sister, Betty Parks Alvis; six nieces and nephews and 13 grandnieces and nephews. Nancy graduated from Smithdeal Massey Business College in 1964 and worked for the Virginia Department of Health from 1964 through 1974, when her daughter was born. She was a stay-at-home-parent until 1991, when she returned to work part-time for BL's Administrative Services until 2001. Nancy was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church for over 40 years, where she sang in the choir and taught children's groups throughout the years. Nancy also was a member of the Midlothian Garden Club for over 40 years and served in multiple offices while there. Nancy and Dennis knew one another growing up before marrying in 1966. They enjoyed traveling together throughout their 54 years of marriage. Nancy especially enjoyed time with her family and friends. Nancy's smile and welcoming presence is remembered by many while her husband, daughter and son-in-law remember her as a wonderful wife and mother.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 21, 2021, at Bennett & Barden Funeral Home, located at 3215 Anderson Highway., Powhatan, Va. 23139 from 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Bethel Baptist Church, Midlothian, Virginia.
