The horn measures 13 inches along the bottom edge, it sports a Walnut butt plug and a brown throat with a turned white deer antler tip and plug. The theme is about various raids by Indian tribes during the year 1776 on Martin's Station. On the obverse there is a map of Virginia, the Wilderness Road, the Warrior's Path, and Martin's station. There are a few design elements on the horn similar in style to noted 18th century horn maker’s John Bush and JW Carver.
