Sioux Bow and Arrow set by Norbert Kohlruss

This is a copy of an original in the Mario Luraschi collection in the Musee de Quay Branly in France. The bow is Osage orange backed with real sinew and colored with vermillion, it has a real sinew bow string for display and an artificial sinew string for shooting. The arrows have iron heads which are mounted with real sinew as are the feathers. The bow case and quiver are brain tanned hides quilled and bead decorated and bound with trade cloth.
