This is a representation of the famous "Verner" gun built by my self, Jim Turpin. This was a special order for a collector out of the country. He requested my version of the gun. I tried to stay as close to the original as possible. I spent some time talking to Wayne Watson at the CLA a year ago. Mr. Watson was instrumental in restoring the original gun several years ago & built a copy for himself. I studied the "Watson copy" as I did not have access to the original. The main difference from the original to my version is the wire around the tang vs carving on the original gun. I did engrave the patch box as the original but put my name on the underside of the lid. This was on display at this years August show & received great response. It has a Jim Chambers "Golden Age lock, and a premium Rice 40 cal barrel in a "B" weight swamp.
Copy and photos supplied by Jim Turpin.
