Humble Knife

Here's a wee knife I've had for more than 30 years...bought it at a local yard sale for .25 cents.

 

I believe the handle is ash, the rivets are lead/pewter and the blade made from a saw. It is the quintessential paring knife from the 18th or early 19th century. Home made? I don't think so...I think it came out of a cutlers shop as utilitarian kitchen ware...but I can't say that with any certainty.

 

What is outstanding is that it's in PERFECT condition.
