We hold the Dawn Tribute each year on Patriot's Day to honor the Lincoln Minute Men who marched to Concord April 19, 1775. The current Lincoln Minute Men assemble at the cemetery where several of the patriots are buried. This also happens to be where they assembled to march to Concord on April 19. Several of us stand at the graves of the original minute men. When our captain calls our name we answer and form up. A lament is played by a company flutist. This lament is answered by another company hidden company flutist. A volley is then fired by one of the company standing on a rise; it is answered by a hidden musket man. When the company is assembled we march to Concord along the original line of march. It's a moving tribute. We then take part in the parade through Concord and to to the North Bridge. Next week we honor the patriots and regulars buried in the nearby cemetery. A redcoat regiment joins us along with the British consulate.
