Ft. Pitt Horn, c. 1760. This horn combines elements from several extant powder horns depicting Fort Pitt (Pittsburgh) and the Forbes Road, carved between 1759 and 1764. The hastily rendered designs reflect the chaotic life on the Pennsylvania/Virginia frontier in the aftermath of the French and Indian War.
