There are several Signature Characteristics unique to Jacob Kuntz that appear on Marks rendition of the original.  One is the wonderful individually hand cut 'Basket Weave' pattern carving surrounded by a unique molding that is distinctly attributable to Jacob Kuntz, Philadelphia, Ca. 1815.

Another characteristic is the raised platform surrounding the barrel tang.

The third is the chicken scratching engraved pattern on the ram rod ferules and nose cap wedding bands.
