Michael Galban Hair Ornament

    This piece is based on the Charles Wilson Peale image of Joseph Brant. In the portrait, we can see the hint of the quilled tube and deer hair filled tin cones lying tastefully across the top of his head. The painting is more famous however for the fact that Brant is sporting a sprig of flowers and ferns over his left ear!
