Ken Gahagan After Chief’s Grade Trade Fusil by Wilson

A recently completed Chiefs Grade Trade Fusil by Richard Wilson of London made for a mid west collector of trade fusils. It’s based on an example of one pictured in Colonial Frontier Guns by T.M. Hamilton. This example is stocked in English walnut. The lock is a modified English trade lock by The Rifle Shoppe. The cast engraving had to be welded over and engraved with the appropriate engraving. The barrel was custom made by Rice per the original. The customer supplied an original buttplate to copy and this one is hand swaged from brass per the original.

Copy and photos supplied by Ken Gahagan.

  1. One of my all-time favorite flintlocks from history...re-created by Ken in magnificent fashion, as usual.
