Homer Dangler Rifle

This fine flint lock longrifle was constructed by contemporary builder Homer Dangler and is signed on the top flat of the barrel. It was inspired by a Nicholas Beyer rifle thought to have been made circa 1807 to 1810. The rifle is stocked in a dense piece of highly figured curly maple. The brass furniture has a hand burnished appearance. The large Siler flintlock and .54 caliber Getz swamped barrel are finished dark.
