This is a Longrifle I just completed in the style of Matthew Gillespie, of Western, NC. It is a .50 Caliber "B" weight, Colerain Barrel with curly maple stock. Complete with lollipop tang and sideplate cast off of Earl Lanning's original Gillespie rifle. There is no buttplate or toeplate present, as many Gillespie rifles were also without. Also a nice rectangular grease hole. The stock is scraped and burnished with a deer antler, No Sandpaper used on the finish. Completed for a family friend, Ethan Severance, 13 years old. Engraved on the top of the Barrel "Ethan Severance - May your aim be true, as God's Love for You" per request of the father.
