The flintlock is a period replacement. According to Earl Lanning's research this rifle was owned by George Patton of Kentucky who was killed in an Indian skirmish. All his belongings were returned to his wife Elizabeth. This same Elizabeth Patton later became the wife of David Crockett. It's possible Crockett may have also used this rifle to hunt with.
