The Daniel Goff Family

I would just like to say how pleased I was to see the Daniel Goff “Fowler” photographs that you have posted on your site, its the first musket that I have seen made by Daniel and she’s a beauty. Most of the known images are of Daniel Goff’s flintlock pistol’s.

I am related to Daniel and have been researching the Goff’s for some time, my great grandmother being Matilda Goff.

The Goff family were still making gun’s into the 20th century and my “Goff line” moved from London to Birmingham and finally settled in Bromsgrove. Sadly their gun making activities ended up in a little workshop at the rear of a Chartist cottage in Dodford run by Edwin Goff (Matilda’s father) and Matilda’s brother (Edwin Arthur Goff) had a Gun / cycle shop in Bromsgrove.

If you have any more Daniel images I would love to see them. If anyone has images of Daniel's work please let us know.

Daniel Goff of London Fowler

This is a lightweight fowler with a 37 inch barrel and a bore size from 0,670. The fowler is from late 18th or early 19th century and in a very good condition.
