Wooden Stocked Scottish Pistols by Brian Anderson

A 'not bench copy' honoring the earliest dated wooden stocked scottish pistols (1599 - 1619)
On the originals all of the metal surfaces were heavily engraved.

All parts made by me except the inside of the barrel and a couple of screws. The lock was fun / getting all the parts to function on a relatively small scale was somewhat of a challenge.
This is its third stock / it took some experimenting and false starts to come up with something passable. The barrel is .40 rifled and 12" long (the  bores on these early pistols ranged small) and the pistol holds and shoots well.
