The Scottish Dirk in The Broadside: Part I

Forrest Bowie by Stash David

This is a copy of the knife given by Jim Bowie to his friend, actor Edwin Forrest, in 1829. It's 17 inches long overall and 1 1/2 inches wide. The false edge extends the full length of the spine. It has a tightly crosshatched walnut handle with silver pins.

Searles Bowie by Stash David

This knife is patterned after the Bowies commissioned by Rezin Bowie from Searles of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It has a 9 inch blade and is 1 1/2 inches wide. It has a walnut handle with German silver mounts.

Pipe Ax by Stash David


Based on the one in the Schoenbrunn Village museum, this pipe axe has a fairly typical English-style head, and a diamond shaped handle with chevron design burned in with a file. It was donated as one of the prizes for the annual Schoenbrunn Village raffle.
