16th and early 17th century matchlock and wheellock flasks

An early 17th century cheekstock long barreled hunting rifle - this style was popular in northern Europe in the late 16th and through the 17th century and into the 18th.  They were made with matchlock, wheellock, and an assortment of snaphance and flint locks. My lock is inspired by one of the earlier flintlocks.

Here are some photos of what  l've been working on lately.

The upper one is one l did last year - lt has a slightly modified lock kit from 'The Rifle Shop' -  A Dutch influenced combination of a German style lock on French stile architecture. 1630 's

The middle one is unfinished - the lock l made myself  -  Late 16th century

The lower one is a takeoff on 'the John Alden house gun', featuring a much butchered lock 'kit' from The Rifle Shop  - 17th century
