Rock Island Auction : American Half-Stock Percussion Pistol Attributed to John Vincent

Bore Condition: Good - Some light pitting or frosted appearance
Description:

"Henry Parker/Warranted" lock, unmarked barrel with blade and notch sights, pewter forend cap, and sheet brass trigger guard. The consignor attributed this pistol to John Vincent. He and his son John Caleb Vincent were gunmakers active in Washington County, Ohio, throughout the latter half of the 19th century. Includes a display stand.

Rating Definition:

Fine with traces of original brown finish at the breech, gray and brown patina, and general minor wear. The stock is also fine with attractive figure and minor handling and storage marks. Mechanically fine.

We are honoured to present selections from the Tom Grinslade collection including a wide selection of 18th century Hudson Valley, New England, and other American fowlers, Revolutionary War dragoon pistols, and horseman's sabres. British cavalry and naval muskets, carbines and pistols spanning the late 18th century and Napoleonic era are represented by East India Company arms, carbines associated with the 2nd and 3rd Dragoon Guards, Cold Stream Guards, and a rare Pattern 1780 Seven Barrel Nock Volley Gun.
