Antique German Tinder Lighter c 1750

Tinder lighters are scarce items. The higher quality ones by known gunsmiths are even rarer.  This museum quality piece, in excellent condition, and in full working order, was made in Hamburg by the famous German gunsmith H.W.L. KERST.  The walnut grip is beautifully carved and is reminiscent of an oriental design. The lighter has great patina on wood and metal and has not been cleaned.  The tinder compartment is spring opened by pushing on the release lever on bottom.

length: 8.75"
