Massachusetts Militia Musket, Deerskin Pack, and Plain Powder Horn, early 19th century.
The musket with 42 in., .70 caliber barrel, breech marked "P" and "M," "LH," and "180[-]; lock marked "I/ADAMS"; walnut stock with silver barrel key plates and silver wire inlay around the breech plug tang and oval silver thumb piece; brass trigger guard with acorn finial, butt plate with long narrow tang, side nail escutcheons, two sheet brass rammer and an entry pipe, and later brass band at the muzzle; wood rammer (reconverted; fore stock replaced from the second rammer pipe forward).
Case ht. 19 1/4, wd. 23 1/4 in.
The plain green powder horn with carved spout and flat pine base plug and later leather cord.
