Description: BRENNAN. Cal. 50. S# 40. 57" Overall, 41" oct., barrel signed on inset silver plate "J. BRENNAN No. 40". this is 1 of Jud's masterpieces made about 1990. Four piece silver patchbox is finely engraved en suite with silver trigger guard, buttplate, toeplate, sideplate, and escutcheons. Hand forged rebated lock, cock, breech, screw heads also engraved. Curly maple stock is deeply relief carved opposite patchbox, wrist, barrel tang, forward of trigger guard, and rear of thimble. 

CONDITION: fine overall, a few scattered storage nicks and dings. Mechanically fine with crisp rifled bore. (01-21948/JS). ANTIQUE. $3,500-5,500.
