ATTRACTIVE, NICELY AGED POWDER HORN BY GARY BIRCH AND PATCH KNIFE. Leather possibles bag has flap exhibiting an old brand and has heart decoration toward bottom. Shoulder strap has stitched in sheath for old mother of pearl handled knife. 10" Powder horn is nicely decorated with early motifs depicting Native Americans and French voyagers with turkey, snake and scroll decoration with motto “Roy de La grande Nation”.
CONDITION: fine with some artificial aging, stitching is intact. Knife with broken scale, chips and missing ball on crossguard.
PROVENANCE: Estate of Frank Glenn Marsh. Consignor states work is by Gary Birch, no signature found. (02-17033/MGM). $300-500.
