Hunting Bag, Accoutrements & Map Horn

Gary Birch, born 1946, began working in folk art in the
early 70’s, long before advent of the CLA.
He made many bags and powder horns and since evolved to folk art sculpture
and painting.
This bag set features and F&I Style New York map Horn,
fully scrimmed and carved, silver butt cap band & spout. A rifleman’s knife with antler & pewter
embellishment.
A small spike tomahawk in a fitted sheath. An engraved adjustable powder measure and pan
brush on hand made chain, an antler ball started and a forged and antler game
carrier.
Native American Bag & Horn

John Arrasmith, Cherokee/English, was well known for his
reproductions of Native American Art, tools and accoutrements. This bag of brain-tan leather, red wool &
embellishments of trade silver and beads.
The large horn is deeply carved along the spout. The powder measure is fetish carved from a
boars tusk. The knife hilted in bone and
pewter.
John’s art also predates the CLA. He was a consultant and contributor to many
films including Dances with Wolves, Last of the Mohicans, Lonesome Dove &
The Mountain Men.
