"Dew claw rattle with wooden stem wrapped
with plaited quillwork bands, copied from an original from the Western Great
lakes. Length 29.4 cm. Housed at Muse'e d'Yverdon, Switzerland. The original
wooden handle is what James believes to be a re-purposed blunt tip, (bird
arrow) this is made from hickory."

Hi James. What a great looking rattle! Congratulations on a fine job. I'd be most interested to know what the material is you used for the finial. Also, where is the original version you used as inspiration? (Berlin?) Would you happen to have a photo of it? Would be interested in corresponding with you! Rich
