Knowing that we all like an opportunity to win fine guns and accoutrements, our AMM KY/TN brigade (Appalachian Brigade) is raffling a smoothbore gun and a pouch/horn set and I thought you might like to know about it – and maybe purchase some tickets. The raffle will take place in 3 weeks. Attached is the information flyer about the items to be raffled.
An AMM member has donated land to the organization outside Dawson Springs, KY which has now given us AMM guys a home here after all these years. Larry Mayes got a log house donated and we have now moved it to our property. One unique thing was that the fireplace lintel stone was carved and dated 1787- a rare find for western Kentucky that early. Attached are some photos of it in the building stage. Holding this raffle has already allowed us to now purchase wood shakes to replace the temporary metal roof shown in the photos.
THE DRAWING TAKES PLACE ON OCTOBER 11 AT THE EASTERN AMM TERRITORIAL RENDEZVOUS IN ILLINOIS.
The Appalachian Brigade (formerly the Kentucky-Tennessee Brigade) is raffling off a fine smoothbore flint gun by Kentucky’s Ronnie Gentry and a pouch and horn set by Craig Fisher and Art DeCamp. The raffle has been a success and to date we have raised more than $11,000! Every penny is designated to develop our AMM land in Kentucky for all to enjoy.
On October 11, two lucky winners will walk away with a fine gun and a super pouch and powder horn set. You do not have to be present to win.
There is still time to buy and sell tickets. You can order on line by going to our website: www.appalachianbrigade.com (or if it hasn't been changed yet; www.kytnbrigade.com ) and clicking on FUNDRAISING. Or, if you prefer, send a check to Larry Mayes below.
Attached is a flyer showing the items to be raffled. The two items are raffled separately. You’ll need to buy tickets for the gun and tickets for the pouch/horn set.
Make checks to: AMM, Larry Mayes
