Pipe Ax by Mike McHugh

This tomahawk is modeled after the hawks given by the French, to the Native Americans who were loyal to them during the French and Indian War. The head is brass with a steel bit pinned in place. The brass screw-out bowl is turned and filed. The eye is chased and engraved with a fleur 'de' lis on one side and an acanthus leaf on the other. A silver inlayed shell is engraved on either side of the cheek. A silver sun representing King Louis and another fleur 'de' lis is engraved on the left side and a hand holding a scale is on the other. Both end caps and the center band are silver. Mouth piece is bone and clean out plug is antler.
