A Little More On Fleenor

I stopped by to talk to Lewis Drake at the Beinfield here in LV. Drake said that Fleenor was one of a couple of guys that put a grave marker on Hacker Martins grave. Drake also said that Louis Smith did the engraving for Fleenor. Drake has some fine Contemporay LR's for sale, one by Mulford and another by Steve Alexander. I talked to Alexander when he was first starting out in the late 70's, when he lived in CA. One of Alexanders parents if I recall correctly was an MD. I had commissioned him to do a Full Stocked Hawken, but after several months he returned my deposite as he really didn't want to do the rifle. Oh well.

Attached are some photos of my small collection of LR's as well as a Gibbs style LR TGT  by the now passed away Don Henry Brown. This was the last order he took for a complete rifle and the second to the last that he finished. Don passed away several weeks after finishing his last rifle. It seems that he felt obligated to finish them and when that was accomplished he passed away.  Don was a very nice man who I enjoyed talking to.
